Appointment of Director

VR Education (AIM: VRE; Euronext Growth: 6VR), a leading virtual reality (‘VR’) technology company focused on the education and enterprise training space, announces that, further to the announcement of 20 May 2020, Praveen Gupta has been appointed as Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.

Praveen is currently Vice President, Corporate Investment & Development at HTC Corporation (‘HTC’), based in San Francisco, CA, in addition to positions held on the Boards of five Cloud and VR-focused companies. He brings a wealth of international experience and deep industry expertise to the Company’s Board, with particular skills in business development, strategic investment and advisory, and M&A activities.

During his career, Praveen has held positions at a range of large and high-profile technology companies across America and Asia, most recently as Vice President, Corporate Business Development at SK Telecom Americas, part of the leading mobile carrier in South Korea. Previous roles have also included Senior Manager, Corporate Business Development at Aptina Imagining (formerly division of Micron Technology Inc.) and Executive Director and Partner of CDIB Ventures, the US based Venture Capital entity of the China Development Industrial Bank, as well as a number of strategic advisory and business consultancy roles.

Praveen has also authored and contributed to a number of successful published works and academic research on venture capitalism and technology, and holds an M.B.A. from Golden Gate University, San Francisco.
